Captain Harry Rivera

Your skipper, Captain Harry Rivera, is a native of Puerto Rico who brings more than 30 years of local Kauai fishing knowledge and experience to the helm. Widely known and highly respected by his fellow Hawaii fishing guides and captains, Captain Harry has dedicated his life to mastering these waters.

In addition to serving as a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, he has a long track record of leadership in the local charter industry. He helped build C-Lure Charters around a core philosophy of honesty and integrity, eventually serving as the Manager and Captain at Captain Trips Sportfishing (formerly C-Lure Charters) and also created Blue Water Fishing Eastside Charters. Today, he brings all of that expertise to his very own venture: Kauai Extreme Sportfishing.

A Philosophy Built on “Good Vibes”

For years, Captain Harry’s deep passion for the ocean has earned him a stellar reputation and a loyal following. His customers return year after year, which is the ultimate testament to the incredible experiences he provides.

Captain Harry believes that fishing is much more than just a sport. “Fishing is a very spiritual experience,” he explains. “You need to tune into your surroundings—the ocean—to help find fish.” He encourages his guests to be humble, patient, and bring their best energy, knowing that “Good Vibes” are an essential part of finding and catching the fish of a lifetime.

Captain Harry has spent his entire life on the ocean. Here is a look at his extensive background:

The Early Years: Grew up and started his fishing journey in Puerto Rico.
1991: Moved to the beautiful island of Kauai.
1991 – 2001: Captained his own boat, a Force 21.
2001 – 2002: Worked aboard the Konani Star (55 ft. Delta) and the Happy Hunter (41 ft. Pacifica).
2003 – 2006: Captained the Wild Bill (32 ft. Jersey Fisher).
2006 – 2016: Served as Captain of the Mele Kai (41 ft. Noosa Cat).
2017 – 2022: Manager & Captain of Captain Trips Sportfishing. 2019 – 2026 : Owner And Captain Of Blue Water Fishing Charters Eastside
2023 – Present: Proud Owner and Captain of Kauai Extreme Sportfishing.
